Join 80 Potters in the Tulips this Easter Weekend

WITH THE long Easter weekend upon us, outdoor lovers wanting an escape to nature without having to go too far will head to 80 Potters in the Tulips in Morges.

Gathering lakeside at the Parc de l’Indépendance, ceramic artists showcase their diverse artistry — whether sculptural, utilitarian, or decorative — and wide variety of techniques and forms, all stemming from the same material: clay.

Interpretations may vary, but uniqueness abounds. Some pieces can be raw, with traces of the firing flames still visible; others offer delicacy and refinement, bursting with colour and crystals.

Simplicity and function may be the objective of some pieces, while others reject practicality to embrace whimsy and laughter.

There’s something for every taste and price range.

Morges Tulip Festival 2026

The event takes place against the backdrop of the city’s annual Tulip Festival celebrating this year’s theme, “Tales and Legends”.

This free event features more than 140,000 tulips and nearly 350 varieties spread across the city’s Parc de l’Indépendance.

Resplendent with centuries-old trees, the park stretches alongside Lac Leman, the French Alps on the horizon. Importantly, food stalls ensure no one goes hungry or thirsty.

Within minutes’ reach of the park, Morges — one of the oldest and prettiest cities on the lake — boasts boutiques, restaurants and cafés, particularly along its charming, pedestrianised high street.

Morges train station is a five-minute walk from the city centre and five more minutes to the park.

Forecasts call for sunny days with warm Spring temperatures. A perfect scenario to stroll among pottery stands while luscious banks of multicoloured tulips bloom nearby. Ideal for the Easter weekend, wouldn’t you say?
