TO COINCIDE with the stunning exhibition Rembrandt in Geneva at the Domaine de Penthes until 23 October, Tête à Tête – Swiss Events has mounted a parallel exhibition entitled Dutch Art & Design, “Old Master, New Masters” which is featured at the Museum until Sunday, 25 September.
The exhibition is of limited-edition works by photographer Hendrik Kerstens and designers Jurgen Bey, Joris Laarman and Marcel Wanders. It offers a contemporary vision of Dutch art and design as created by these “New Masters”. In a dedicated room visitors can also watch biographical videos of the artists as well as “making of” videos of key works from the exhibition.
Public symposiums on design and photography
To further flesh out the display, on Friday, September 23, from 14.00h-17.00 in Room Gallatin at the Domaine de Penthes, two symposiums will be open to the public that will focus on design, fashion design and photography.
Experts in fashion and design from Geneva’s HEAD; the École cantonale d’art de Lausanne; and the London College of Fashion will join featured photographer Hendrik Kerstens for the discussion, which is free, in English and by subscription only at: info@penthes.ch.
Art After Work party closes exhibition in style
The last of four Art After Work parties will bring the Dutch Art & Design exhibit to a close following the symposiums on Friday, the 23rd. From 17.00h-23.30 (the museum closes at 22.00), visitors will have access to both exhibitions as well as live music, drinks at the Grolsch bar, a Veuve-Clicquot installation, and a KLM World Business Class VIP area.
Food trucks will also be on hand to ensure no one goes hungry. Art After Work takes place in the courtyard of the château so fingers crossed for great weather.
